Videos shared on social media captured moments before Big Pokey’s collapse, showing him conversing with a DJ on the bar’s second level. 

A woman, later identified as a nurse, rushed to assist him after he passed out. 

The Pour09 Bar & Rooftop, where the incident occurred, had Beaumont police officers present during the performance. 

Emergency services were called, and Big Pokey was promptly transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. However, despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
